About the Bloody Sherry Cocktail
This cocktail combines blood orange and lemon oleo saccharum with gin and a little sherry to cut the sweetness.
Ingredients in the Bloody Sherry Cocktail
- 2 oz Gin
- .5 oz Blood orange oleo saccharum*
- .5 oz Fresh lemon juice
- .5 oz Oloroso Sherry
Garnish: Rosemary sprig
Glass: Rocks
How to make the Bloody Sherry Cocktail
Add all ingredients to a shaker and fill with ice. Shake, and strain into a rocks glass filled with one large ice cube. Garnish with a rosemary sprig.
*Blood Orange Oleo Saccharum
INGREDIENTS:
- Peel from two blood oranges
- Peel of one lemon
- 3 oz sugar
PREPARATION:
Using a vegetable peeler or similar tool, peel the entire surfaces of the blood oranges and lemons into a bowl. Add the sugar and muddle, ensuring that the sugar is worked into the peels well. Let stand for 4 to 6 hours. Push the peels away to the sides of the bowl, allowing the oils to gather in the center. Remove the peels and transfer the oleo saccharum into a sealed container. Chill before using.
